Position Title: Director – Fundraising
Location: Noida/Bangalore
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Team Management: Head – Fundraising and supporting team members
Experience: 15+ years of relevant fundraising experience in the non-profit sector across CSR, philanthropic foundations, family offices, and retail or individual giving.
Role Overview:
As Nasscom Foundation enters a pivotal growth phase, the Director – Fundraising will be responsible for leading the organization’s strategic fundraising agenda across domestic and international sources. This is not just a revenue-generation role—it is a leadership mandate to position Nasscom Foundation as a premier ‘tech-for-good’ platform in the development ecosystem.
The Director will architect and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that reflects the Foundation’s evolving programs and impact ambitions, while ensuring sustainability, diversity, and innovation in income sources. The role demands a high degree of external stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate complex program objectives into compelling funding narratives.
Operating as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and senior leadership, the Director will also influence organizational priorities, co-lead donor-aligned program development, and ensure integration across Fundraising, Programs, MEL, Finance, and Communications. This role requires vision, gravitas, and agility—balancing long-term relationship building with the discipline of quarterly fundraising targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Planning-
- Co-create and lead a 3-year fundraising strategy aligned to NF’s evolving program verticals and growth targets.
- Develop donor segmentation and cultivation frameworks for CSR, philanthropic foundations, family offices, HNIs, and multilateral agencies.
- Embed fundraising considerations in annual planning and organizational budget cycles.
- Revenue Generation & Donor Diversification-
- Secure multi-year and multi-crore partnerships, focusing on unrestricted and catalytic funding.
- Identify and operationalize new funding models including:
- Outcome-based funding (e.g., DIBs, SIBs)
- Cause-linked campaigns with corporate and consumer brands
- Employee engagement programs tied to fundraising
- Expand institutional funding sources through alignment with global and national development agendas (e.g., skilling, women’s economic empowerment, digital inclusion).
- Donor Engagement, Stewardship & Reporting-
- Lead all stages of donor cultivation—from pitch to negotiation, contracting, onboarding, and stewardship.
- Manage donor relationships at the CXO/Board level with an emphasis on partnership building.
- Oversee high-quality, timely reporting, ensuring outcomes, budget utilization, and stories of change are well packaged and communicated.
- Cross-functional Leadership & Institutional Positioning-
- Collaborate with MEL to embed data-led impact narratives in proposals and donor updates.
- Partner with Communications to co-design donor-aligned visibility campaigns and influence platforms.
- Ensure Fundraising input into program design, budgeting, and adaptive delivery models.
- Internal Capacity Building & Process Strengthening-
- Lead and manage the fundraising team.
- Build a donor intelligence system (CRM, dashboards, pipeline tracking).
- Establish SOPs for fundraising processes including due diligence, grant compliance, and financial forecasting.
- Thought Leadership & Ecosystem Influence-
- Build strategic visibility for NF as a trusted partner in the tech-for-good and CSR ecosystem.
Reporting Matrix:
• Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
• Supervises: Fundraising team members
• Works closely with: MEL, Communications, Programs, and Finance leads
Success Metrics:
• Fundraising Targets: Achievement of annual and quarterly fundraising targets (quantum and diversity)
• Donor Retention: Increased donor satisfaction, renewals, and long-term partnerships
• Donor Segmentation: Focus on CSR and scope opportunities under philanthropy, HNI, and institutional funders (where relevant to Nasscom Foundation)
• Cross-functional Integration: Seamless coordination with MEL, Programs, Comms, and Finance for donor success
• Team Development: Improved fundraising team capabilities, structure, and performance
• Ecosystem Presence: Representation in platforms and visibility of NF as a sector leader
Qualification & Experience:
• Master’s degree in Development Studies, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in fundraising, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in securing 7-8 figure funding deals and managing senior-level donor relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and donor stewardship skills.
• Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and execution orientation.
Preferred Attributes:
• Strong understanding of India’s CSR ecosystem and global philanthropic trends.
• Familiarity with digital tools, CRM systems, and fundraising analytics.
